What is a demark
Telco demark (or demarc) is the spot inside or outside a building (house) where the phone company officially hands-off the service - phone, T1, DSL, other.
It's important to understand what the demarc is, how to identify it and why not to mess with any of the wiring between it and the street.
They can often be identified by their Bright Orange, light Green, Tan, or Gray appearance.
