English Rose Garden Tour Compte de Chambard

Compte de Chambard is an old variety of Shrub Rose, now over 100 years in cultivation it remains one of the best large shrub roses. Vigorous healthy leave and bud growth in early spring are wonderful to watch even before the flowers start to colour. The rosebuds as they develop open in most wonderful and delicate fashion edged with their green bud coats.
The flowers open full double irregularly quartered and deep pink, fading quickly to a pastel pale pink. The scent is strong and full musk, intense and sweet, almost heady from the profusion of the flower each plant will produce. Upright and self-supporting, this rose is one to grow
