How To Make Katy Apple Tart

Homemade Apple Pie or tart is just a seasonal classic and the variety of apples is at its best at this time of year.
We showed you us collecting these Katy apples from our young tree, and while it's grown as a dessert or eating apple there is nothing stopping you from using it as a cooker. The beauty in doing so is it holds its form when cooked and has the structure and taste of dried apple rings when cooking in the method shown.
Most red-eating apples could be substituted and a russet would be very special cooking in this way.
