Most people are fortunate to have their own insurance - Medicare, Medicaid, or personal injury proteciton - but if you don't have any of those things, you can still get some medical treatment paid for if you are injured in an accident that was not your fault. If the medical care provider agrees, you can get a lien put on your settlement claim and get the medical care, and then you are obligated to pay back that lien once the case or claim settles and the at-fault driver's insurance company has paid you.
