This poor elderly woman has been unable to have both of her big toenails cut in over 4 years. Due to the thickening of these toenails, she has been unable to receive help from various salons or family members.

After seeing her family doctor, due to the amount of pain and discomfort in her shoes and when walking, she was referred to our foot clinic to finally see a foot specialist.

PLEASE NOTE: Ill-fitting shoes, trauma (dropping something on your toes, stubbing your toes), genetics, poor circulation and age can make your toenails grow thick. Once they grow thick, this is usually a permanent change.
