A patient returns for continued treatment of thick, fungal toenails. The results of his fungal nail culture show that his toenails are infected by two organisms, a yeast (Candida Parapsilosis), and a dermatophyte (Trichophyton Rubrum). These are organisms that commonly cause this problem. Now that the results are in, appropriate medication, terbinafine (aka Lamisil) is prescribed. The patient also describes lower back problems that are causing tingling in his feet.
