BULGARIA is a country in Southeast Europe, on the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. It is best known for its beautiful Black Sea coast, the high mountains, the ancient history full of mysteries, its rose oil, its wine, its delicious food, and its hospitable people.

Rhodope Mountains is one of the largest mountain ranges in the Balkans. It is an endless maze of ridges and valleys, located mostly in Bulgaria, and a part of Greece. It is covered by wild deep forests and hides a unique local culture, history, and mysteries.

One of the most beautiful valleys in the Rhodopes is the valley of Chepelarska River, leading against its current from the Upper Thracian Plain to the highest ridges of the mountain ranges around the border with Greece.

Asenovgrad is a colorful town at the entrance of the Rhodope Mountains and the deep gorge of Chepelarska River. The town is full of historical and religious sites. One of the most famous landmarks, not only here but in the whole of Bulgaria is Asenova Fortress.
