Indonesia is the largest island country in the world, with thousands of islands. One of the largest islands in the country is Sumatra. In this video series we travel around West Sumatra, the land of Minangkabau and Mentawai people, with volcanoes, rainforests, wild beaches, lakes, and valleys.

Mount Kerinci (3805 m) is the highest volcano in Indonesia, the highest mountain on Sumatra Island and the second highest point in the whole country. There is a popular but challenging trek to the top with more than 2200 m elevation gain, passing through mountain rainforest, high altitude mossy forest and bush, and dangerous naked slopes to the top above the tree line. The trek is difficult but reveals fantastic panoramic views, a great reward for every hiker.
