The Supremes' Mary Wilson Exclusive Interview and Tribute | Professor of Rock

All of us at Professor of Rock were deeply saddened by the recent passing of Mary Wilson- one of the founding members of the legendary & ground-breaking act The Supremes.

The Supremes were the most successful Motown act of the 60s, and the best-selling all-female group in music history. Mary was the longest running member of The Supremes- carrying the torch of their beloved legacy with passion, dignity, and grace.

She was inducted along with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard (as the original Supremes trio) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.Mary Wilson was such a sweet & caring soul. She was an incredible activist, tenaciously protecting the trademark her fellow musical artists to get the Truth in Music Advertising legislation to be adopted throughout America. She was also a generous donor for many non-profit organizations.

I had the great honor of spending time with Mary and discussing her personal and professional life. Here is an excerpt from that interview where Mary talks about how it all started for her amazing career and about her zest for life.
