I Needed Something To Beat The Summer Heat - Orange Sherbet - Super Refreshing And Easy To Make

It's getting warmer each and every day and today I was sweating up a storm as I sanded my bedroom walls, Thankfully I made some orange sherbet to keep me refreshed. I would pop into the kitchen covered in dust and sneak a bit or two of orange sherbet to cool off. I'm just glad I finished the sand, so now I can paint. This is a standard summer delight and I encourage you to make. Plus there is no reason not too, it is so simple to make. Just make it.

In large measuring container pour 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt and the zest of 1 orange. Mix the zest in until the sugar turns orange, then add in 2 cups orange juice. Once the sugar is dissolved add in 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Lastly add in 1 1/2 cups milk. Refrigerate over night. I

In the morning set up the ice cream maker. Pour the mixture into the machine and for my machine let it run for 25-30 minutes. Transfer the sherbet to a chilled container and freezer over night.

Serve cold and maybe even with a hazelnut biscotti.
