Addressing inequalities through migration in the Global South: An intersectional perspective

Keynote Speech by Louis Herns Marcelin, INURED Haiti at the Policy Symposium on Migration and Inequality in the Global South. The Migration for Development and Equality (MIDEQ) Hub works with a global network of partners in 12 countries in the Global South, organized into six migration corridors, to transform understandings of the relationships between migration, development and inequality. The project seeks to promote a better understanding of how structural inequalities—related to poverty, age, gender and race—drive migration and limit its potential to contribute to personal, societal and global development, and propose ways to overcome inequalities and improve migration outcomes.
