How to Grow Bananas

In this video, I'm gonna show you How to Grow your Bananas. Our Bananas in the farm are already 4 months old from planting. There are 3 basic things in Growing our Bananas. Growing our bananas at this level is not an easy task. It takes a lot of activities from planting to growing stage as well as maintaining the leaves. We are happy to share with you our experience in growing our plants.

1. First, Water Supply or H2O. Our bananas need water to facilitate its growth. You can have a water irrigation system across your banana farm or you can rely on the rainfall to provide water for your plants. Water supply is needed in banana farm to ensure productivity and fruit quality.

2. Second, Fertilizers. Our bananas need fertilizers to supplement the required elements found naturally in soil. Fertilizers are vital to plant growth as it contain elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. When the banana plants absorb the fertilizers, it will facilitate its growth and vegetation process. We can have fertilizers such as Urea which contains 46% of nitrogen, ammonium sulfate which contains 21 % of nitrogen with phosphorus and muriate of potash or MOP. Application of fertilizers to our bananas could be monthly or every two months depending on your fertilization program.

3. Third, Basic Spray to our Bananas. This is to control the pests and insects in our farms. Fungicide Spraying to has to be administered to our farm to control the diseases such as black sigatoka, moko and fusarium.

It is also important that our banana plants absorb the sunlight to aid in its growth.

At four(4) months, banana suckers started to sprout already. Desuckering activity has to be done so that suckers will not compete as to nutrients with the mother plant. I will feature it on my next video. Happy Farming everyone.
