How to Plant or Propagate a Banana(Lakatan)？

This video shows How to Propagate or Plant a banana(lakatan). Planting or Propagation of a banana is recommended during the rainy season to facilitate its growth. Propagation of bananas will be either using the banana corm or the tissue culture bananas. It is recommended to plant or propagate bananas during the rainy season. Below are the steps in planting or propagation of bananas:

1. Holing Process. Hole to be planted with bananas should be at least 1 foot in depth. This will serve as housing for your banana corm as it prepare to sprout.
2. Distance for the hole will be 2x3 meters or 2x2.5 meters. When using the 2x3 meters distancing, 1600 banana plants could be planted in 1 hectare.
3. Put the banana corm at the center of the hole.
4. Cover it with soil and put some pressures to the soil.
