Soviet Spy Lens - TAIR 3 Photo Sniper 300mm f4.5 - Part One - Repair

In this video we're taking a look at a Soviet Spy Lens from the 1960s. This TAIR 3 Phs 300mm f4.5 would originally have been part of a Zenit PhotoSniper kit, complete with gun looking trigger system and shoulder rest - the earlier versions of this lens were made for the Russian military but the later versions like this one were sold to the public for sport and nature photography, along with a bit of good old spying!!!

There were a few problems with this lens when it first arrived, dirty optics, incorrectly assembled aperture mechanism, oil on the aperture blades and incorrectly set infinity position - all relatively simple to fix on this lens due to it's size and simplicity.

Timings:

Disassembly 4:15
Aperture Blades 13:45
Cleaning the optics 21:22
