Bossa Nova has strong influences from jazz but mainly samba. The origin of the term BOSSA NOVA was first used in the song 'São Coisas Nossas' by the Brazilian composer Noel Rosa. The expression BOSSA NOVA could be translated to ‘New trend’ used by musicians as a new way of singing and playing at that time

Bossa Nova musical genre officially started in 1959 with the song 'Chega de saudade' by João Gilberto. The Brazilian musical got really famous with the most famous song the Brazil has ever produced, A Garota de Ipanema (The Girl from Ipanema
