SOG POWERLOCK & POWERASSIST : Only for collectors of multi-tools ?

SOG PowerLock & PowerAssist:
- The gear system offset from the axis of the pliers to increase the pressure on the jaws has the disadvantage of spreading too much hands, which are slippery, so to make catastrophic handling,
- The cover or covers, removable but used to protect the hand, further aggravate the lack of ergonomics of the multi-tool,
- the narrow profile of the file is mis-oriented,
- the cover ou covers partially mask the graduation in mm,
- clearance in both directions of the tools,
- SOG does not give the quality of the steels of the serrated and smooth blades.

SOG PowerAssist:
- if you replace the V-Cutter with the saw, the saw is mis-oriented,
- The assistance to the opening, after unlocking, smooth and serrated blades is arduous gadget and obesures the tools of the multi-tool,
- the cap screws, with hexagonal head, require a suitable socket,
- no rope ring.

SOG PowerLock:
- clear manufacturing quality compared to the PowerAssist (non-fluid opening of the pliers (hard points) / clearance in a protective plate of the gear wheels / sloppy file / disappearance of the cable stripper on the big screwdriver flat / extraction of tools per package / non-stamped Phillips screwdriver / disappearance of the "piano" locking system / disappearance of the "SOG" cut-off),
- unnecessary locking position (at 90 °) for the bit adapter holder,
- the knife blade is flexible, small and mis-oriented,
- the saw is badly oriented and cuts badly,
- the scissors are poorly adjusted at their ends and at the base,
- kit of bits and bit holder not provided and sheath simple pocket not adapted to this kit.

SOG, which sells its products at the price of Leatherman products, continue to take its clientele for simple minded (or military)! :)

SOG PowerLock & PowerAssist :
- le système d'engrenage déporté de l'axe de la pince permettant de démultiplier la pression sur les mors présente le désavantage d'écarter beaucoup trop les manches, qui sont glissants, donc de rendre catastrophique la prise en main,
- le ou les capots, amovibles mais qui servent à protéger la main, aggravent encore le manque d'ergonomie du multi-tool,
- le profil étroit de la lime est mal orienté,
- le ou les capots fermés masquent partiellement la graduation en mm,
- jeux dans les deux sens des outils,
- SOG ne donne pas la qualité des aciers des lames crantée et lisse.

SOG PowerAssist :
- si l'on remplace le V-Cutter par la scie, celle-ci se trouve mal orientée,
- l'assistance à l'ouverture, après déverrouillage, des lames lisses et crantée relève du gadget pénible et obère l'outillage du multi-tool,
- les vis d'assemblage, à tête hexagonale, nécessite une douille adaptée,
- pas d'anneau de cordelette.

SOG PowerLock :
- qualité de fabrication en retrait évident par rapport au PowerAssist (ouverture non fluide de la pince (points durs)/ jeu dans une plaquette de protection des roues d'engrenage/ lime bâclée/ disparition du dénudeur sur le gros tournevis plat/ extraction d'outils par paquet/ tournevis cruciforme non estampillé/ disparation du système de verrouillage "piano"/ disparition du découpage "SOG"),
- position de blocage inutile (à 90°) pour le porte-adaptateur d'embout,
- la lame de couteau est flexible, petite et mal orientée,
- la scie est mal orientée et coupe mal,
- les ciseaux sont mal ajustés à leur extrémité et à la base,
- kit d'embouts et porte-embout non fourni et housse simple poche non adaptée à ce kit.

SOG, qui vend ses produits aux prix des produits Leatherman, persistent à prendre sa clientèle pour des demeurés (ou des militaires) ! :)
