GHANA 🇬🇭: The History That Changed How We See Africa (Part 2)

We spent Day 2 in Accra visiting the places that built modern Ghana. From the W.E.B. Du Bois Center to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to Independence Square and the Black Star Gate, this was a full day of Pan-African history that hit deeper than we expected.

Did you know Du Bois died on August 27, 1963 -- one day before MLK gave the "I Have a Dream" speech at the March on Washington? Or that Ghana's independence in 1957 sparked a chain reaction that spread the red, gold, and green Pan-African colors to more than 20 African countries? We didn't just read about this history. We stood in it.

We also got off the tourist track and made it to Jamestown and Makola Market to feel what everyday Accra is actually like.

Exploring all of this with my family made it that much more meaningful.

Next episode we're heading to Cape Coast. Two castles, one of the heaviest days of the trip.
