New Friends at Guana Cay! - Sailing ShaggySeas Ep. 39

This week, we fix a leak, sail to Guana Cay, go exploring, and make some new friends at the beach.

After a few days at anchor north of Tahiti Beach, we decided to make our way back to Guana Key. We had surprisingly good cell coverage at the anchorage, so we spent most of our time there editing and uploading the weekly videos. After months of sailing, we and the dogs have become quite used to the routine of a quick hop between anchorages. The dogs have become so comfortable with sailing days and each have their favorite things to do while under way. Even though the winds were still pretty high, John decided to jump in the water and check out the area. It was a bit tough swimming against the wind until I got closer to shore where the land provided a bit of protection. He saw tons of fish along the island and even a shark. Later that evening, John decided to head to shore and check out Guana Key. I was surprised with how nice the two main attractions were on the key of Grabbers and Nippers. Grabbers is where everyone in the anchorage lands their dinghies. Nippers is a short walk across the island from there and had such an amazing beach! John met some really nice people who were also sailing through the area and we stayed up late having great conversations. The next morning we went to hang out with our new friends on Sailing Vessel Breeze. They gave us the grand tour of their bluewater Passport 40. After the boat tour, we all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast that Abby had prepared.
