Exploring Man-O-War! - Sailing ShaggySeas Ep. 37

This week, we provision in Marsh Harbor, sail to one of the most beautiful islands in the Abacos, and search for the narrows where two seas almost touch. We can't wait to show you this stunning island! 

It was a beautiful morning back in Marsh Harbor. The outboard was having some issues, so John got to work fixing it early in the morning so we could dinghy to the dock and re-provision. Now that we had our food resupplied, it was time to fill up our water tanks so we could go back out and explore. It had been about 16 days since our last fill up with only a 40 gallon water tank and 4 jerry cans. Having our water topped off again was such a great feeling. We had a quick sail to Man-O-War Cay, and set anchor just south of the cay. The next day we packed up to go to shore and explore Man-O-War Cay. It was a bit of a long dinghy ride, but we enjoyed looking at the boats and mangrove forests as we made our way to the dinghy dock. Man-O-War Cay is known for building many of the boats used in the Abacos and it was interesting walking by the workshops and seeing boats in different stages of construction and repair. We enjoyed walking down the island’s streets and looking at the different houses. Eventually we arrived at the beach and the narrows where the Sea of Abaco and the Atlantic Ocean almost connect. We took the opportunity to have some snacks and fly the drone. On the way back to the dock, we walked a different route and saw the traditional homes of the residents of Man-O-War. After a great day of walking and taking in the sights, we headed back to the boat to enjoy some dinner and the sunset. It was such a beautiful evening, so after dinner we laid in the cockpit watching the clouds change shape and color as the sun dropped below the horizon.
