DIY Arduino dinosaur robot (STEGObot)
Visit https://pcbway.com to get high quality PCBs. In this video I show the whole process of creating a stegosaurus robot: the concept and design, mechanics, electronics and programming.
This video is divided into four main parts, as follows below.
1. CONCEPT & DESIGN: the concept of STEGObot has a will to make more playful robots, to have my 4 year old boy even more interested in learning electronics and robotics.
2. MECHANICS: all the parts for this robot was made with high impact polystyrene sheets, using only DIY techniques and simple tools. The walking mechanism uses only three servo motors.
3. ELECTRONICS: the main feature of STEGObot is its PCB - it's a board where it is attached an Arduino Nano and an NRFL2401 module for remote controlling. The PCB shape was made with Inkscape, and the schematic was made with Fritzing. PCBs manufactured by PCBway.
4. PROGRAMMING: the programming was made with Arduino IDE. Basically we have to move the middle servo motor to tilt the front of the body and rotate the front legs' servo. So, it pulls the robot forward.
