HP Z840 How to add additional HDD storage bays (also works for Z820 Z800)

In this video, I'll show you how to add 3 additional 3.5" HDD bays to the HP Z840 for a total of 7 HDD bays. I will be using a trayless hot-swap drive cage that will convert 2x5.25" bays into 3x3.5" HDD bays. The unit I'm using was something I bought from Monoprice many years ago, but identical solutions can be found from brands like iStarUSA, Icy Dock, Kingwin, and many others. I'll leave a eBay search link below to help you guys find these if you would like to get some for yourself. I'll also use super thin SATA cables from Supermicro (P/N CBL-0481L) that I will make into a custom cable to connect the drive cage to the onboard LSI SAS2308 controller in the Z840. I will be installing 7 HGST 10TB SAS HDDs as my primary storage on this system.
