Giving Thanks
In Hindu myth and symbolism, Lakshmi or 'Sri', is a deity that represents Abundance of all forms. She reminds us to give gratitude for what we already have and what we can offer others to ease suffering. "Lakshmi is often related to fertility, and the lotus is a symbol that is most commonly used to represent that. The lotus flower symbolizes fertility and life in how it is rooted into primordial waters. It is representative of the entire created world. The lotus grows from the navel of Vishnu, which represents the beginning of cosmic creation, and Lakshmi “is the nectar (the rasa) of creation which lends to creation its distinctive flavor and beauty”. ~ David Kingsley.

Gratitude is essential for a healthy 'Heart' brain and body. In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways.

Needing a sac to rest in, hold it together and keep it in place, the heart relies on fascia, or connective tissue, to do just that. Fascia is fibrous bands of tissue similar to cling wrap which encapsulates every cell of the body, surrounding and giving its contents shape, stability and strength. Fascia also helps to compose the valves responsible for opening and closing sections of the heart to ensure proper blood flow with each beat. Though tissue paper thin (as shown in the photo) these intricate valves are incredibly tough and rugged, built for years of operation.
