Build a Christmas Tree Skirt Collar

The kids love Christmas, and we just got a new pup, so this was the perfect time to do a Christmas-themed project. Yep, the new puppy, Ruby, is great. She's a pit bull/lab mix and has a lot of energy. She chases her toys, and our cats, all around the house. We normally put a tree skirt and train set under the tree, but we were afraid that she might get caught up in it, or that she or the cats might get hurt while running through that area. So, we decided to build a Christmas Tree Collar. Honestly, I've never seen one of these before. We stumbled upon pictures of them while searching for alternate things to put under the tree and thought it could solve our problem. It was a fairly easy project and took around 45 minutes to complete.

As I talk about in the video, the size can be adjusted to fit your tree base, and you can assemble with nails, screws or even wood glue. The kids really wanted to paint this, but we decided to leave it rustic looking.
