RV Hydraulic Leveling Jack Maintenance: Changing Jack Fluid

RV Hydraulic Leveling Jack Maintenance: Changing Jack Fluid

RV DIY Redemption happened today. Gary performed a do it yourself maintenance task with no problems, no trip to Lowe's, or no double the time to get the task done!

Today's task was to change the fluid for our hydraulic leveling jacks. Our motorhome needs this done every two years. The fluid we use is Valvoline Synthetic Transmission Fluid Dexron 6 per our motorhome manual.

*Follow the manual directions for your specific RV.

Project Materials:

00:00 Intro
01:06 Step 1 Slide In, Jacks Up
05:46 Step 2 Draining the Fluid
08:51 Step 3 Adding New Fluid
16:05 Step 4 Lower the Jacks
17:20 Wrap Up

It really is a simple task, but it can be a little messy. Our jacks are working beautifully and a mystery beep every time we turned left has stopped. We suspect the fluid was slightly low causing this alarm to sound. We're good now for a couple more years.

Stay tuned for more RV living and traveling. Follow the journey.
