Race To Odesa
During WWII Glenn Hale and Lloyd Eickert were on the same B17 crew flying a bombing mission to Dresden, Germany. Their B17 was so badly damaged by flak that they knew they would never make it back to England. They continued to limp eastward and bailed out over Poland where they were “guests” of the Russians. Listen to Hale and Eickert provide two perspectives about the race across Ukraine on a train to Odesa where they would rendezvous with a ship.
