Feeding 4 Baby Eastern Screech Owls
So here was a clutch of 4 Eastern Screech Owl chicks who were safely ensconced in the wall of an abandoned old building in Beaver, WV. ....until the building was torn down. Fortunately, the excavator operator spotted the fluff balls in the gaping hole his machine had torn open in the wall. So, here on May 8, 2018 they are getting their first meal at TRAC. They were then moved into a cage with Rudy, one of TRAC's education ambassadors for raising up. She wound up with 2 more in with her shortly after and she successfully raised all 6.
