## **1. Fat loss starts with food — not exercises**

I've said it a million times...If you want to lose fat anywhere — belly, chest, lower back, love handles — the first thing you have to address is **your intake**.

Don't look at is as a diet. This is a brand new lifestyle.

See, a diet is something you hop on for a couple weeks and then hop off as soon as you reach your goal or life gets stressful. But a healthy lifestyle? This is the way you feed your body every single day… whether you feel motivated or not.

Everyone online loves to say they’re doing Keto… or fasting… or eating clean. But listen to me carefully:

**None of that matters if you are still eating more calories than you burn.**

You can follow every diet rule like a robot. You can fast until noon, cut out carbs, meal prep Tupperware towers… but if your portions are too big and your calories are too high, your love handles will not move.

Your belly isn’t stuck because you chose the wrong workout.

Your belly is stuck because you’re eating more than you think.

And your body doesn’t lie.

If your waist hasn’t shrunk after weeks or even months of trying, that means your calorie deficit is either too small… or you're not consistent. And if you're new to this, a **calorie deficit** simply means you're eating fewer calories than your body burns each day — forcing your body to use stored fat (including love handles) for energy.

this needs to be the year you stop pretending diet rules equal fat loss. They don’t.

A calorie deficit does.

Now let me take this a step further, because a lot of people hear “calorie deficit” but don’t actually know how to figure out their numbers.

**Here’s how to know how many calories you burn each day:**

- Step one: Look up a TDEE calculator online. TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure — the number of calories your body burns per day just by existing, moving, working, and training.
- Step two: Put in your age, height, weight, and activity level.
- Step three: The number it gives you? That’s how many calories you’d maintain your weight at.

**Now here’s how to know how much to eat:**

- If you want to lose fat, subtract **300–500 calories** from your TDEE.
- That’s your daily fat‑loss target.
