Hi, I'm Lorie Marrero and today's Clutter Video Tip is about books. Now I am a book lover, so I don't want you to think for one second that I'm going to suggest getting rid of all the books that you love [POP], but I do want to remind you that you're not responsible for building a replica of a public library right in your home, that's the library's job. So when you do decide to part with some of your books, remember that you can always get them at the public library, and don't feel like you have to be responsible for keeping that collection up [POP] for all time. So my friend Judith Kolberg has a great way of looking at collections. You can think of things as friends, acquaintances, or strangers. So in other words you're going to pick up a book and you're going to say, "Is this a friend book that I love, or is this an acquaintance [POP] book that I kind of like, or is this a stranger that I don't even know, maybe I haven't even read this book? So you want to keep all the friend books that you want, and most of the acquaintances, a few of the acquaintances, and get rid of the strangers because [POP] those books don't mean very much to you in your life. This is a great way to clear some space on your shelves, but another way to clear some space is to think about an e-book reader. This is my book that costs $17.95 for a cover price, but when you buy it on the Kindle it's considerably cheaper. And when you use an e-book reader, you can get rid of multiple shelves of books [POP] like this. Think about how much linear feet books are taking up on your shelves in your home, and all of that will be condensed into one device like this. So more books in less space that cost less money. That's a pretty good idea nowadays.

Well, if you would like to tackle a project like clearing your bookshelves, we have a great offer for you, [POP] our Seven Day Quick-Start. It's free, it's part of our free 14-day trial with the Clutter Diet Program, where you get unlimited access to our professional organizing team to answer all of your questions, help you choose a project, get started on it, and get it done, all in that first week. You can find out more at clutterdiet.com/quickstart.

See you next time, and may you always be happy and grateful for having more than enough.
