So when you want to free up a neck, the super simple way is to use contract relax strategies (we call it ‘squeeze and stretch’)👍
Had a lady in today that responded ok to fascial length but when we did a trial of contract relax in conjunction with trigger points trails, she was able to make another jump. It’s Empowering to have different strategies available just because different bodies respond in different ways. We think of selecting treatment techniques like trying keys to a lock. If one doesn’t work, try the next one till the door opens.🤪
With this stuff, the Key is to get systematic, so think of tackling the muscles through the front as well as the back of the neck.
In this video we show how it’s done in the clinic in its easiest form (we’ll usually add trigger points and interestingly “cold”, either ‘magic spray” like on the footy field or ice stroking can help too).
This is a great strategy to know to replicate for self (working with your health crew) on your tension and then build on for the whole body.
