Jesus the Lamb: Re-examining the Imagery - Revd Conrad Hicks
Revd Conrad Hicks explores the Easter theme of Jesus as Lamb of God.
Conrad is Assistant Chair of the Methodist Church (South Eastern District) and former overseas minister in Jamaica, Ireland and Mexico.
Conrad's talk is based on a Masters dissertation he wrote exploring the Old and New Testament use of the image of the lamb. He explores how common assumptions of lamb-sacrifice as dealing with 'sin' are not found in the Old Testament, and so cannot underlie the image when applied to Jesus in the New Testament.
Cafe Theologique is a discursive popular theology seminar run above a town-centre bar in Reading, UK. It is co-hosted by the Bishop of Reading and the Anglican Chaplain of the University of Reading. More details here: https://www.facebook.com/Reading.Cafe.Theologique/
