Ugly rock wall breakwater

The ugly rock wall breakwater planned for the Perry Harvey jetty at Mission Beach is not a done deal yet. The GBRMPA still have to approve it and it must go through a public comment period.

The beauty of Boat Bay is undisputed. A 120 metre rock wall in the middle of the ocean on an open lee shore battered by cyclones just doesn't make any sense at all. Almost $20m allocated for infrastructure in this prone environment without an economic study to see how it can benefit such a small community makes even less sense.
