What is Sansamed?
We at Sansamed know that medicine can be difficult at times, understanding basic medical concepts and processes can be very frustrating which brings us to our main goal which will be to produce videos that hopefully would make medicine simpler and more fun to understand.

What is complement system?
Complement system is part of our immune system (both innate and adaptive) that plays a role in inflammation. Complement system has three classification: classical pathway, alternative pathway and lectin pathway. Function of complement system is to opsonize, play a roll in chemotaxis, cell lysis, neutralization and blockade of viruses. We will also discuss the pathologies of the complement system

What is Lectin pathway?
Lectin pathway is part of our innate immune system that similar to alternative pathway do not require antibodies to neutralize the pathogen. Lectin pathway uses proteins such as mannan binding lectin (MBL) and MASP-1 and MASP-2 and the final common pathway and its denominator: MAC
