Hi, this is Scott with etrailer, and today we're taking a look at our CURT pop-in ball for our gooseneck trailer setup. Our CURT 2-5/16 ball we have in today, we're using it as a replacement style for our CURT custom setup. So it's going to look a little bit different than what you may have in your vehicle. This is going to be able to get used for your factory puck-style systems. You can get this as a replacement. It's going to work with GM, Ford, your Ram, things like that.

It's a really good, heavy-duty option for your gooseneck towing needs. It's really nice the way it goes in, it just drops in and you put down the little latch, and it's locked in place and ready to go. Now, this will rotate around a little bit, so it's not going to be sitting still. It's going to help reduce wear on the ball itself. It's going to have a polished chrome finish on this, so that's going to keep it from corroding and really help it hold up with the elements.

This 2-5/16 ball is going to have a vertical load rating of 9,500 pounds, and that's going to be the weight pushing down on the ball itself. Basically, a tongue weight rating. It's going to have a gross trailer weight rating of 38,000 pounds, and that's going to be your trailer and everything that you have on your trailer itself. This ball also comes in a kit form, where it's going to have your ball and it's also going to have your safety chain loops for your puck-style system and a really nice carrying case. So my overall impression of this is I really like the design of it.

I like how it's easy to pop out, just turn it and pop it up and pop back in place, and click it down. One of the thing I like about it is there's no other mechanisms to lock it down into place. So once you get this locked down and you have this tab down, once your trailer goes over top of that, there's no way for that to come unlatched, and it is on there solid. Another thing I like about it is the chrome finish really looks good on this one. It's super clean-looking and it's also going to hold up really well.
