Physarium polycephalum Slime Mold

Physarium polycephalum, slime mold. These slime molds can move very fast. Slime molds are generally not seen because they like to creep in the dark throughout the soil. However, when they do surface, many of them are extremely brightly colored such as this one, Physarium polycephalum and then they are easy to spot because this bright yellow color really contrasts against their background.

Physarium is classed as a Protist. These are amazing organisms, one can mash them up and then they will reorganise themselves into the same structures as seen before this intervention.

It has been suggested that slime molds show signs of "intelligence"
