2020 House Elections | QT Politics

When it comes to the 2020 elections in the US House of Representatives, there isn't much question over which party is likely to win.

Inside Elections contends there are 202 safe Democratic seats, to 174 for Republicans. Including seats in play, it's projecting 233 for Dems and 201 for Republicans.

270 to Win ranks the safe seats as 181 to 160 in favor of Democrats. Including all districts in contention, it's 223 for Democrats and 193 for Republicans, with an additional 19 rated as total toss ups.

The Cook Political Report rates 183 Democratic seats as safe, and 165 safe for Republicans. Including likely, lean, and toss-up states, Cook puts Democrats at 236 and Republicans at 199.

But there's certainly more to know about the house races beyond which party is currently favored to come out on top

In this video, I'll highlight a number of House races to watch, and the vulnerable seats for each party—tracking the districts where either party could plausibly win in the 2020 election. In this way I hope to not just show that the Democrats are favored to hold onto power in the House, but answer the question:

Why is that?
