5 progressive running mates that Joe Biden could use to unify the Democratic Party for the 2020 election.

Joe Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. His first serious test in this role will be who he taps as his running mate.

Names like Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, and Elizabeth Warren are frequently floated by politicos in the establishment media. They also top the betting odds and polls.

This is not surprising, given the fact that all three have substantial name recognition, much of it gained by the important campaigns they ran in the Democratic Primary race. But name recognition is not necessarily something that Joe Biden neither wants or needs in a running mate: he has plenty of it all on his own.

What Biden does need in a running mate is someone who will help unify a potentially fractured party, and drive voters to the polls.
