Ike Pappas, a reporter with radio station WNEW-New York, flew to Dallas on Friday to cover the assassination story and spent the weekend at Dallas Police headquarters. On Sunday, November 24, 1963, he was one of the closest bystanders to the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald. He returned to Dallas in 1964 to cover, and testify at, the Jack Ruby trial.
