Mt. Rainier Reflections - Sunrise to Sunset Timelapse

This is a montage of timelapse and a couple of real-time videos of Mt. Rainier and its reflections on Lake Lawrence recorded from sunrise to sunset during a beautiful, sunny Saturday on January 12, 2019. The occasion was a family gathering in celebration of my mother-in-law’s 83rd birthday, Lorraine, at her and her husband Chuck’s waterfront home on Lake Lawrence in Yelm, Washington.

Still photos alone cannot capture the experience of physical presence and visual observation as the sunrise slowly paints the clouds above the snow-covered Mt. Rainier pink, lavender, orange and red. The compression of time reveals the graceful movements of clouds, gliding formations of waterfowl, steering breezes on the water’s surface, and the changes in the sun’s illumination – motions and fluctuations barely noticeable in real-time. The addition of a dramatic mood music track, such as “Etherial Choir Ascends,” which I downloaded from the Youtube library and carefully timed to scene transitions creates an ambiance for an awe-inspiring, memorable multimedia experience. I hope that you enjoy watching and experiencing my compressed visual observations of this amazing day.
