Ancient Greek pronunciation
Yes, this is the second version of this video I have uploaded today. A comment pointed out quite rightly that the sound of the main speech was rather quiet, so here is a version with boosted sound volume (with all its attendant hiss and wind noise).
You may notice that in take three (the first shown), I am not wearing my jacket. This was because there was rather a lot of blood all down the back of it. The tissues with which my scalp was mopped were contributed by the two audience members who joined us during take one. Scalp wounds bleed quite a lot, it turns out. Yes, it did hurt a bit, but I am British.
Should I have included the slide show? Possibly not, but I did have lots of nice shots of Aphrodisias and it seemed a shame not to get them seen.
