Bronze halberds
My series on weapons has been dominated by titles that start with 'A point about', but I suppose that this video isn't so much a point about bronze age halberds as an introduction for the uninitiated. What were they for? Well they could have been for slaughtering cattle, but for battle they seem to be somewhat overkill for just puncturing people. Perhaps they were for
puncturing shields?
A point that several people have mentioned in comments is that the knob could have been for grip. I'm sure that it was indeed for grip, but the knob seems to be bigger than necessary merely for grip. Danish axes managed without such large knobs.
I'm still trying to get to grips with Sony Vegas, which has dozens of tiny windows that all overlap and obscure each other. Editing a video on it is like trying to tie your shoelaces through a keyhole.
