A Journey though History: J.S. Grewal on Works, Fellow Historians and Accolades

Jagtar Singh Grewal is a prominent historian of medieval and modern Indian history, especially the history of the Punjab and Sikhs. In an extensive interview with Sahapedia in 2018, Grewal talks at length about his long, prolific career spanning several decades. In this concluding segment of the conversation, Grewal talks about his various works, and also his joint works with eminent scholars like B.N. Goswami. He also remembers the historians like Peter Hardy with whom he had interacted closely.
The interview was conducted jointly by Indu Banga and Karmjit K. Malhotra. Banga has published extensively on agrarian, urban, institutional, social and cultural history of medieval and modern India and the Punjab. Karmjit Malhotra teaches at the Department of Punjab Historical Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
