Vintage saree sale

Our 'Vintage Saree Sale' held on the eve of National Handloom Day was a huge success and we thank all the donors and buyers for their invaluable contribution. A part of our collection was donated to GOONJ​ (http://goonj.org/) and the proceeds from the sale went to Palna (http://www.dccw.org/palna.php). As one of our guests eloquently said during the event, ‘It’s not just the fact that it’s handloom but it’s the diversity of handlooms. Every part of India has its own tradition of how it weaves, why it weaves like that, what kind of cotton is used, patterns and all that is also related to both diversity as well as culture. So I think it’s really nice that we’re coming back to saying that this is the India that we need to celebrate.’
