EXCAVATION and SEEPAGE TANK install at our latest NEW CONSTRUCTION project in Cliffside Park, NJ

Our latest video is up and live! This video is on our latest project showing the seepage tank and excavation process. Since these are super tight sites we start from the rear of the property which is also the low point of the site and work our way forward. Before we start digging our trenches we install our seepage tanks at the lowest point of the property. Once we pass inspection, we backfill over it and work our way forward with the trenching. Our surveyor comes out to stake the 4 corners of the house so we know exactly where to dig on a 2 dimensional x and y axis and with the help of modern technology and laser levels we’re able to find our proper depth which would be our z axis. Based on these measurements we know exactly where to dig so we don’t exceed any side or height setbacks.

This is the trickiest (and messiest) part of the build. A protege builder that I learned a lot from once told me, if you can understand how to get the structure out of the ground, you’ve learned the hardest part of the build. He was right. Once you learn how to calculate in reverse essentially and figure out your low point, you can start to build up from there. Once we get our footings poured and slab heights figured out, it’s off to the races!
