½ cup vinegar
½ cup brown sugar
a bunch of banana blossoms
3 pieces bay leaves
1 thumb-sized ginger (sliced)
1 medium-sized onion (sliced)
1 tablespoon peppercorns
2 cups of water
salt to taste
