The Strategy of Geoeconomics

Simple answers:
1) I don't see the China trade war ending soon because the US' demands will weaken the CCP's hold over the economy, making it a political no-go.
2) Trump is NOT practicing geoeconomics BUT he's gotten closer to it than anybody since Reagan (arguably). He's more 'foreign policy being driven by economic needs', which his team is trying to turn into geoeconomics.
3) I don't like TPP or TTIP because its dispute settlement mechanism threatens state sovereignty.

This video first takes a general strategic look at geoeconomics: what it is and what are the key elements, goals and means. Then it proposes two general geoeconomic strategies: a liberal strategy based on free and fair competition (and NOT a hands-off approach to the economy), and a developmentalist strategy based on capital accumulation and state direction.

I re-emphasize that most of this video represents my own thoughts on geoeconomics (particularly the 2 strategies) and NOT NECESSARILY those of the sources I cite.
