JARO the Mestizo Town of Iloilo City

Jaro is the largest district in Iloilo City in terms of area and population. It the cradle of Christian faith in Western Visayas, being the home to various institutions established by different religious sects. The most popular among these religious institutions is the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral.
Jaro is known as the Mestizo town of Iloilo City, being the home to a number of prominent Spanish-Filipino families. A reason why 19th century American colonial architecture and a lot of ancestral houses and structures can be found in Jaro. Featured in this video are a number of these ancestral houses.
