We Were SO Close!! Olympic Foundation Walls

On the home stretch! Now that the foundation walls are formed, we need to brace them. We want to brace the walls plumb and straight, but also brace them to be able to handle the concrete placement and the pressure of the concrete itself on the forms.

All our bracing and "cleats" are screwed into the forms using @strongtie https://www.strongtie.com/strongdrive_exteriorwoodscrews/sdws-q_screw/p/strong-drive-sdws-framing-screw I have a lot more confidence in these screws than 16d duplex nails. Plus they are easier on the body to install.

Part of "buttoning up" the foundation is shooting grade. I use the Stabila LAR350 rotary laser to mark level in the forms, then snap lines representing the top of the concrete. 3d finish nails tacked 12" oc allow us to place concrete right up to the line.

As you can see from the thumbnail, we had a storm move in.
