1931 Ben Selvin (as ‘Frank Auburn’) - In The Merry Month Of Maybe (Dick Robertson, vocal)

This and the flip side “I Found A Million Dollar Baby” ( https://youtu.be/lefcFPBbKww ) were written for “Billy Rose’s Crazy Quilt,” a 79-performance 1931 revue that featured Fanny Brice, Phil Baker, and Ted Healy among the cast.

“Frank Auburn” was a pseudonym commonly seen on various dime store labels to represent the works of several well-known recording artists, including Ben Selvin, Harry Reser, Fred Rich, Sam Lanin, Phil Spitalny and others.

Transferred from 78rpm Velvet Tone 2404-V (also issued on other Columbia-owned labels) - In The Merry Month Of Maybe (Warren-Gershwin-Rose) by Frank Auburn & his Orchestra (Ben Selvin), vocal by Dick Robertson (as Robert Wood), recorded in NYC May 28, 1931 .
