This is why it’s important to pay attention to work station ergonomics, sitting posture, standing posture, and sleeping position.

If you spend a lot of time in messed up positions…the body is going to adapt to these and have issues.

The first mistake (excessive forward tilt to the pelvis) is typically how people with chronic anterior pelvic tilt sit. They often complain of having tight low back and hip flexor muscles...

The second mistake (shifted forward pelvis with a rearwards tilt and back slump) is typically how people with sway back posture sit.

Ideally, you want the pelvis neutral. You want the “sit bones” aka ischial tuberosities going straight into the cushion AND you want to think of the relationship of the rib cage and the pelvis as a soda can (cylinder). You want it stacked up vertically with no “kinks”…
