Upgraded Bulgarian Split Squats (advanced variation) #shorts

Bulgarian split squats are a great unilateral leg exercise.

They help develop brutally strong legs AND they also help iron out muscle imbalances between the left and right leg by stimulating each side independently.

The twist variation above I learned from Dr. John Rusin (highly recommend checking out his stuff).

What I did in this video beyond adding the twist is I incorporated in blood flow restriction bands.

These maximize the “muscle pump” (aka cellular swelling) by restricting venous blood return out of the muscle.

Basically, they allow blood to flow into the muscle, but restrict its exit maximizing the “pump” in the muscle which is an powerful signal for muscle growth.

I’m really interested to see who will actually do this. I’m warning you right now…the last time I did this I almost puked (including during the recording of this video!) #shorts
